United Rentals Equipment Operator Certification Course Specials! 

The Alliance Collaborative is sponsoring a group equipment operator certification course through our relationship with United Rentals (UR)! These blended learning programs cover the theory and exam portions of training using an interactive online presentation. This eLearning course can be accessed at your convenience and can be completed in multiple sessions. Upon successful completion of the online portion of this program, the learner must attend a live practical evaluation session to receive a certificate of completion and wallet card. The onsite portion of these trainings can be scheduled at most UR branches across the country. 

Two courses are being offered for the Spring session: 

Core 4 - Combines two different courses: 

1. Boomlift / Scissor Lift 3b 

Training Topics 

Upon completion of this blended training program, you will learn about: 

  • Aerial boomlift & scissor lift basics 
  • Rules and regulations 
  • Types of equipment, their main parts and functions
  • Safety systems 
  • Pre-use inspection 
  • Safe operating procedures 
  • Limitations, hazards and controls

A minimum of 70% is required to pass the theory test. Students are allowed three attempts to pass the final exam and have six months to complete all three components of the course from the date the online theory is initially launched. 

This course is applicable to US and Canadian standards and regulations. 

Course(s) required for completion: 

  1. Online Training - take any time prior to Practical Evaluation 
  2. Online Assessment - take after Online Training 
  3. Practical Evaluation – schedule at your local branch

2. Counterbalance Forklift & Rough Terrain 3a 

Training Topics 

  • Upon completion of this blended training program, you will learn about:
  • Counterbalance and Rough Terrain Forklift basics; 
  • Rules and regulations 
  • Types, main parts and their functions 
  • Safety systems 
  • Pre-use inspection 
  • Safe operating procedures 
  • Limitations, hazards and controls

Training requirements are; access to a computer, connection to the internet, and a basic knowledge of computers. This training must be successfully completed to attend the Practical Evaluation Program. 

A minimum of 70% is required to pass the theory test. Students are allowed three attempts to pass the final exam and have six months to complete all three components of the course from the date the online theory is initially launched. 

This course is applicable to US and Canadian standards and regulations.

This certification is good for 3 Years

The combined cost for this double certification course is:

$493 for Alliance Members $580 for Non-Members and includes a one-year, Individual Membership to The Alliance Collaborative.   

The second course offering  is the: 

Skid Steer Operator DIRT CERT™ 

Training Topics 

  • Upon completion of this blended training program, you will learn about: 
  • Skid steer basics 
  • Rules and regulations, 
  • Types, 
  • Main parts and their functions 
  • Safety systems 
  • Pre-use inspection 
  • Safe operating procedures 
  • Limitations, hazards and controls

Training requirements are; access to a computer, connection to the internet, and a basic knowledge of computers. This training must be successfully completed to attend the Practical Evaluation. 

Practical Evaluation 

This required session is the final component to complete the blended learning Certified Operator course. This live session provides the learner the opportunity to demonstrate skills learned in a safe environment under the direct observation of our trained evaluators. Operator skills will be evaluated using industry standards. Online training module is prerequisite to this Practical Evaluation. A minimum of 70% is required to pass the theory test. Students are allowed three attempts to pass the final exam and have six months to complete all three components of the course from the date the online theory is initially launched. 

This course is applicable to US and Canadian standards and regulations.

  2. Online Assessment - take after Online Training

This certification is good for 5 Years

The cost for this single certification course is:

$192 for Alliance Members / $225 for Non-Members and INCLUDES a 25% discount ($22.50 value) on a one-year, Individual Membership to The Alliance Collaborative
